As this is the first post on this here blog, I thought I'd give a little background of myself and what I hope to achieve from writing here.
I'm quite a simple North Yorkshire lass with an ever growing love of times gone by.
I grew up with my mother and grandmother in a big old Victorian house and spent many an hour watching both women primp, preen and create the world around them in such ways I was constantly in awe.
In my 'real life' I work as a nurse in a very busy hospital. Believe me, there is not one element to my job that is remotely glamorous!
So here I am, trying to create a little haven of old-school glamour. A place to document my sewing endeavours, puttery adventures and other odds-and-ends that float my boat, so to speak, and help maintain my sanity and express my inner vintage girl.
